Reade, who founded Deadline Communications in 1994, specializes in creative direction, copywriting and project management. His background as a journalist has helped give Reade the ability to clearly communicate a message and meet tight deadlines in the work he has done for more than 50 business clients.

He has been helping produce effective communications materials since 1975. That year, at age 12, he began writing for a weekly newspaper in Upstate New York—for 10 cents per column inch of copy. Reade later worked full-time as a reporter, photographer or editor for three daily newspapers and a national magazine.

His time as a journalist included four years with the Vail Daily in Vail, Colorado, first as sports editor and then editor.

Reade then spent about a dozen years affiliated with SKI Magazine, first as a full-time editor in New York City for three years and then later as a contributing editor after moving to Minnesota. See some of Reade's favorite SKI Magazine feature stories on people and places here, along with all 40 of the "Last Run" personality profiles he wrote for the magazine.

Reade's photography has also appeared in a number of publications and he was a contributing writer for Time-Life Books.

Reade has been active in local, state and national political campaigns. He also lobbies members of Congress each year for funding for school physical education programs in Deadline Communications' role as the sales and marketing agency for the Rollerblade Skate in School program.
